

Shelby McKenzie earned her law degree from Georgia State University College of Law with highest pro bono distinction. Prior to law school, Shelby attended Georgia State University and earned her Bachelor’s in Psychology. Shelby has previously worked with the Georgia Law Center for the Homeless and Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, where she helped victims of domestic violence obtain Temporary Protective Orders. Shelby has also clerked for the Honorable Judge Belinda Edwards in the Superior Court of Fulton County Family Law Division.
After law school, Shelby gained a wide range of family law experience with the Georgia Family Law Project. Shelby practices family law because she has a passion for helping families navigate the sometimes complicated waters of the legal system. Shelby also serves as a Guardian Ad Litem, providing the Court with information and recommendations in particularly complicated custody disputes. Shelby is a member of the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers (GAWL) and Co-Chair of the American Constitution Society (ACS). Shelby lives in Atlanta with her husband and two cats. She enjoys cheering on Atlanta United and trying new restaurants around Atlanta.
