Megan Pettis

Associate Attorney

Attorney Megan Pettis grew up in the Chicagoland area. She attended Emory University where she received her Bachelor of Arts. Megan furthered her education at Tulane University where she received a Masters of Social Work with a concentration in law enforcement response to domestic violence. She was a John E. Ryan Merit Scholar at John Marshall Law School before graduating with her law degree from Emory University School of Law. While in law school Megan held prestigious internships with the Attorney General’s Office, the U.S Attorney’s Office of the Northern District of Georgia, and the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office as a Gang prosecutor.

Megan began her career in law enforcement, where she was a decorated officer and detective for over eleven years. She was a Police Officer and Detective with the New Orleans Police Department where she was named Officer of the Year in 2010 and received other commendations for her work with federal agencies. She eventually went on to train the New Orleans Police Department in domestic violence protocols. Megan was also a Police Officer with the Atlanta Police Department where she was the first female Valedictorian of the Atlanta Police Department’s Police Academy. She ended her career in law enforcement as a Human Trafficking Investigator for a State of Louisiana law enforcement agency.

With her educational background and abundant law enforcement experience, Megan eventually saw her calling as a legal advocate for those people in need of finding their voice. Megan has been practicing family law exclusively since committing herself to legal advocacy. She is an active member of the Georgia Bar and Atlanta Bar Association.

When she is not working, Megan enjoys spending time with her husband and family, running, and caring for her elder rescue pup. Love it or hate it, she is an avid Saints fan and can be found glued to the television watching college and NFL football.
